THE LIMIT OF OUR LANGUAGE IS THE LIMIT OF OUR WORLD

Language is communication and culture. Knowing a foreign language is relationship with other people, comparing cultures and understanding others´point of view. The more languages we know the more we will know about the world we live in.

A REVIEW OF OUR INTERNATIONAL SEMAINE IN OUR SCHOOL . A BIG THANK YOU!

First of all I would like to thank all the individuals involved in designing and carrying out this project: The French teachers, especially Encarnación Robles;Leah , our language assistant from Virgina; Aaron our male language assistant from Canada and Mr. Antonio-Luis Rodriguez, Inspector of Education.I would also like to thank the collaboration of my colleagues in the English Department:Rafael Nieto, Juan-Antonio, Antonio Robles and Javier Salinas. Thanks for your support and encouragement. Finally, I don´t want to forget the expertise of our two Erasmus students: Luca and Jana. Thanks to all of you.

I have to share with you, colleagues and students, that it has been a very interesting experience: THE DISCOVERY OF THE BLOG . With this ICT tool , I have been able to post all the activities just minutes after they have taken place. It has been a unique and rewarding experience worth the effort.

I hope this cultural week has been a turning point for most of you. Our main goal has been to encourage you to see English and French languages as TOOLS of interacting with other people and cultures.

Jana was in Lyon for nine months. She told us her personal experience: enriching and unique. Luca, from Italy, has told us that he has mastered four languages through visiting different countries and meeting people. A unique experience to be done by all university students.

Antonio, a devoted Inspector, University teacher and friend, accepted my invitation to give a talk on his personal experience learning English.
